covering an area of 1,648,000km2, Islamic Republic of Iran is a wide country located in southwest af Asia neighbouring the caspian sea, Turkmenistan, Azarbaijan and Armenia in the north; Afghanmistan and Pakistan in the eas; and Turkey and Iraq in the west. All southern broders of the country ends to the shores of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. Total terrestrial broders of the country are 5,170km. and total water broders in the north and south are 2,510km.
Nature and vastness of Iran are the most valuable prameters for development of tourism indystry. Among millions of hectares of terrestrial land in Iran, 19 millions hectares are covered by orchards, gardens and farmlands; 10 millions hectares are plain and pastures; 19 million hectares are forest; and the remaining include barren lands, desert, and mountains.
